The CSCS Card requirements are changing with the withdrawal of the CRO (Construction Related Occupations) Cards.
Occupational Awards (OAL) has been working with the industry and CSCS and has agreed a new Occupation and qualification for Worktop Installers.
Those wishing to apply for the CSCS Card must achieve the OAL Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Fitted Furniture Installation and complete the optional unit Fit and fix work surfaces. For more information on this qualification please contact OAL.
Lisa Williamson, OAL Managing Director said
“It’s great news that we can support the industry when issues like this arise. There are a lot of occupations affected by this change and we are also working with employers to support them. For example, we have developed a new ‘Installing Timber Decking and Cladding’ qualification and we are waiting to hear from CSCS if they will also accept this qualification for the related occupations.”
If you are affected by the removal of the CRO CSCS Card, please contact OAL to see how we can help you.
From 1st October 2015 the following changes to the CRO card were:
- All CRO cards issued from 1st October 2015 will expire on 30th September 2017* and are not renewable
- You will be expected to register for a nationally recognised construction related qualification before the card expires
- Only one occupation will be displayed on your CRO card from 1st October 2015
- CSCS will stop issuing CRO cards from 31st March 2017
