Level 2 bakery consultation open

Level 2 bakery consultation open

Calling all bakery centres!

We are currently running a bakery qualification consultation. This consultation will close on Friday 7th July 2017.

Background

The current suites of bakery qualifications for both Apprenticeships and Full-time Study Programmes date back to QCF developments in 2010.

Since that time we have seen the QCF disappear and new Baker Apprenticeship Standards have been developed. Revision of bakery qualifications are therefore long overdue, and with the emergence of the technical and professional education agenda it is time to prepare for the provision of robust qualifications.

OAL has already consulted with providers involved with the Baker Apprenticeship Standard developments. Now it is time to consult more widely with provision across the bakery sector in order to ensure that proposals are fit for purpose.

About the consultation

The consultation will take place by email. It will initially relate to the draft qualification structure proposals for the level 2 (mandated qualification).

This consultation is very important in setting the tone for the next generation of bakery qualifications.
