Our end-point assessment services for the improvement technician apprenticeship standard are now live

This apprenticeship has been designed by a range of employers to ensure that both new entrants and those interested in progressing a career in the sector have an opportunity to develop the right skills, knowledge and behaviours. This apprenticeship is a fantastic way of developing these skills whilst learning and gaining experience at work.

At the end of the programme apprentices will:

  • demonstrate problem solving methodologies
  • undertake an improvement project within the workplace
  • develop an understanding of the different lean tools and techniques
  • develop improvement technician behaviours such as driving results, team-working and the desire for continuous development
  • develop a deeper understanding of their business.

OAL Level 3 Improvement Technician End Point Assessment

The end-point assessment includes three distinct components:

  1. A knowledge test of 40 multiple-choice questions
  2. Submission and presentation of a project report. This component involves the apprentice completing and submitting a project report based on an improvement project completed during the apprenticeship. The apprentice will deliver a presentation based on the project report.
  3. A professional discussion, which is underpinned by an apprentice logbook. The discussion will last no longer than 50 minutes.

The apprentice is required to submit a project report and a logbook no later than one calendar month after gateway.

To achieve final certification, apprentices must have completed and achieved a minimum of a pass in each end-point assessment components.
