OAL Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care
The OAL Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care aims to develop learners’ skills, knowledge and understanding of key academic, professional, and sector-specific knowledge required within health and social care practice. Learners develop academic study skills, research awareness, and reflective practice to support professional development.
The qualification explores professional communication within health and social care contexts, examining how communication supports person-centred practice and collaborative working. Learners also develop knowledge of health and social care policy, systems and governance frameworks, alongside the sociological factors that influence health, illness and inequality.
The programme also introduces the principles of ethical practice, safeguarding, inclusion and professional accountability. In addition, learners examine the role of partnership working and collaboration across organisations and professionals in supporting coordinated service delivery.
