Behavioural safety in the workplace qualification overview

The OAL Level 3 Award in Behavioural Safety in the Workplace covers the development, implementation and monitoring of behavioural safety programmes.  This qualification will support progression of learners to either level 3 and 5 diplomas in occupational health and safety.

The qualification is aimed at anyone working in an organisation with a mature health and safety management system, wishing to implement a behavioural safety programme in a workplace.

Who is the qualification for?

The qualification is aimed at anyone working in an organisation with a mature health and safety management system, wishing to implement a behavioural safety programme in a workplace. Consultation with the management and workforce is essential.

This qualification will support progression of learners to:

  • OAL Level 3 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • OAL Level 5 Diploma In Occupational Health and Safety Practice

Assessment

The qualification must be assessed using the following assessment method:

  • portfolio of evidence

Learners are required to achieve all learning outcomes within units of assessment. All assessment is subject to internal quality assurance within approved centres providing this qualification. External quality assurance of assessment and internal quality assurance within approved centres is provided by OAL. This qualification is not graded; achievement certificates for this Award are issued on the basis of awarding a pass only.
