Occupational health and safety qualification overview
Our occupational health and safety qualifications are recognised by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Completion of the qualifications will enable learners to meet IOSH academic requirements for either Associate, Technical or Graduate membership depending upon the level of qualification achieved.
The OAL Level 3 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety will develop the competence for those who wish to develop skills and knowledge in the application of occupational health and safety good practice within the workplace.
On achievement of the qualification learners will have developed the level of competence which will enable them to perform consistently, reliably and productively in their work role, and make a positive contribution to their employment.
Who is the qualification for?
This qualification is designed for learners who have an element of responsibility for health and safety within their role in the workplace.
Learners who complete our qualification will meet the IOSH academic requirements for Associate Membership and Technical Membership.
The qualification must be assessed using the following assessment method:
- portfolio of evidence.
Learners are required to achieve all learning outcomes within units of assessment. Assessment will involve observation of learner performance. All assessment is subject to internal quality assurance within approved centres providing this qualification. External quality assurance of assessment and internal quality assurance within approved centres is provided by OAL. This qualification is not graded; achievement certificates for this Diploma are issued on the basis of awarding a pass only.
