One dedicated contact within OAL paid off for leading British bed manufacturer the Silentnight Group. The firm’s Training and Development Manager Julie Dix explained why the single contact made the EPA process straight forward and easy to navigate.

“We received excellent support from Sue Morgan, OAL’s end-point assessment Delivery Manager. This was particularly important because the EPA process is so new,” said Julie.

Five Silentnight apprentices underwent the EPA for the Level 2 Furniture Manufacturer standard (Bed Manufacturer occupation) in January, with assessments conducted by OAL’s expert Independent Assessors. Silentnight were particularly looking forward to the EPA because it had contributed to the Furniture Industry Employer Trailblazer Group, which helped to develop the Furniture Manufacturer Apprenticeship Standard.

Julie explained: “Everyone was on a steep learning curve. But OAL’s support made all the difference, because Sue and the team were constantly available to answer all our questions quickly and offer reassurance every step of the way.”
